They have been hijacked by third world dictators and mismanagement and not held accountable for how they spend our money or use their positions of moral authority and power. What each sorely needs is some leadership that will hold those institutions accountable. Is our long wait finally over?

History tells us that our National Security Strategy is founded on sound principles. Those principles are further validated by their applicability as an international relations model. The violence in Iraq will validate this model. As the Iraqi government becomes more viable, the violence against coalition forces will subside and be directed towards the new government. The best exit strategy may be what we thought all along: to accomplish the mission.

The international media seems to be getting increasingly desperate as the Bush administration pushes ahead with its foreign policy initiatives. Much like the insurgency in Iraq, the media can do little more than attempt to skew public opinion, as it helplessly watches from the sidelines and the march of freedom passes it by. That the media must invent news does not bode well for their point of view or their chances of success.
